E85 | Phillies Karen and the Bigger Picture: It’s Not About the Baseball

Rhett and Justin Episode 85

What happens when our worst moments are caught on camera for the entire world to see? This episode dives deep into the viral "Phillies Karen" incident, exploring not just what happened when a woman's outburst over a baseball was captured on national television, but what it reveals about humanity, pain, and our collective response to public mistakes.

Rhett and Justin begin with some playful college football banter, discussing Alabama's humbling loss to Florida State and what it teaches us about expectations and growth. The conversation takes a heartwarming turn as Rhett shares how his son's passion for racing simulators led to an unexpected connection with professional driver Weston Workman, highlighting how seemingly insignificant moments can become pivotal opportunities when we pursue what we love with dedication.

The hosts then thoughtfully analyze the viral baseball incident that captivated social media. Rather than simply condemning the woman's behavior, they challenge listeners to consider what invisible pain might drive such reactions and how differently we might see the situation if we approached it with empathy instead of judgment. "That's exactly the type of person that we all are at the root and at the core," Rhett reflects, "very selfish... and that's the type of person Jesus gave his life for."

Through personal stories about aging (complete with tales of gray hair and iPhone white noise machines), the hosts create space for authentic reflection on our shared humanity. They remind us that in an age where anyone's worst moment can become tomorrow's trending topic, extending grace might be the most countercultural choice we can make.

Rhett:

Imagine a world where every conversation feels like a genuine connection with authentic people, a place where you truly feel like you belong and where everyone's got a chair at the table. Friends, welcome to Armchair Authentic. Okay, justin, it's so good to be sitting down here having another conversation. I'm going to try something new today. As you and I were having a pre-call conversation, I was just writing down a ton of things that we were just talking about with friends, and so the new thing I want to do today is I actually want to kind of set this up in a way to let people know, maybe, some things we're going to talk about. First of all, here's three things that I hope to get to today. We'll see if we even finish one right.

Rhett:

I want to talk about the Phillies Karen. I want to talk about the Phillies Karen. Of course we have to do that.

Justin:

I mean, the whole world is talking about the.

Rhett:

Phillies, karen, I want to talk about what it looks like to embrace AI leadership stuff realistic expectations, unrealistic expectations. We walk in leadership with people and relationships, whether we're aware of it or not, unaware of it. Right, this self-awareness when it comes to that, and the first thing I want to talk about today is I think two weeks ago you had mentioned something about let's talk about nonsense and this whole thing about nonsense. You were referring to this in the idea of college football. I was, and so yeah, so all my Auburn fam, they're like you're going to call Justin out on this right, you're really going to have a conversation, because you can't let him get away with saying y'all talk some nonsense before the season started.

Justin:

Let's go back. This is before.

Rhett:

Auburn played Baylor, and this is before Alabama played.

Justin:

Florida State. Florida State.

Rhett:

And you were like nonsense, college football, All right.

Justin:

So I want to say let's talk some nonsense. Quality opponent.

Rhett:

Quality opponent. Yeah, yeah, let's talk some nonsense. Iconic team. So, justin, as it comes to nonsense, let's talk about that Alabama FSU game. Well, Brent.

Justin:

Well, I mean, can we talk about?

Rhett:

is Kalen DeVore still even in Alabama as the head coach.

Justin:

I mean like you got to give the man a chance.

Rhett:

I'm not one to say let's, let him go you got to give the man a chance.

Justin:

I don't like quick turnarounds. I think people are panicked. Yes, that game was nonsense.

Rhett:

As the other Auburn fan, mark Clement, said, he doesn't really count.

Justin:

We're not, you know, whatever it was, a humbling day, man.

Rhett:

It was a humbling day.

Justin:

Welcome to the real world 23 years, I don't know what it was like to start a season one and O. They cleaned it up a weekend ago. Yeah, and in faith, I would love to say we took care of business against Wisconsin two days ago. A two day. Oh, yeah, okay, that's that's in faith.

Rhett:

I know you feel a little bit better because you just annihilated.

Justin:

UL Monroe or whatever it was Last weekend 73-0.

Rhett:

You had to have a high school team to make yourself feel better Nine days ago.

Justin:

Nine days ago, okay, but we're not talking about that right now. Louisiana people are tough. We're not talking about that right now. Those are tough people in. They're tougher than the Arkansas people. I'm going to be nice to Arkansas, okay, please.

Rhett:

Okay, friends listening, do you see how he's trying to deflect and move the conversation elsewhere? I'm trying to keep him grounded. I think we should all get along, oh yeah.

Justin:

I wanted to talk about how great Auburn did.

Rhett:

Quality opponents. I appreciate opponents SEC doing good.

Justin:

Our Gators lost a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, that one's not good To a team they shouldn't have lost.

Rhett:

So what is it like to finally have your feet on the ground and not have clouds underneath your feet or red carpet under your feet?

Justin:

as an Alabama fan, it feels like what Satan must feel like when he knew, oh wow, that defeat was going to happen and he can't be victorious there you go that must be it, Cause I'm used to living in that victory that victory side, and it's like this must but to be on the losing side.

Rhett:

this is what it feels like this is what it feels like yeah, this sucks. Yeah, but To be?

Justin:

on the losing side. This is what it feels like. This is what it feels like, but it does. It humbles you, so I guess that's a good quality.

Rhett:

Okay, what are you learning? Talk to me, leader, I'm learning. How can you help the other Alabama fans that are out there right now with reality, because this is not a Nick. Saban no, no, do not rehire.

Justin:

You're quoting them on this. Do not rehire Nick Saban. Nick Saban is wonderful. Let him step out in the great way he stepped out. It will only undo things if he came back. He had to leave on top. He's the man. It's divorce day, kalen DeBoer. We need to give him some time to adjust. I think he's going to adjust. I really do A couple of years. If people go back into this and listen to this date in 2025, I might be proved wrong, but you at least got to give someone a chance. I think people panic way too fast.

Rhett:

Were you one of those panicking.

Justin:

No, I was caught off guard.

Rhett:

I definitely did not text you, I gave you space.

Justin:

You can text me in these days it used to be like don't text me. I would have been so frustrated. No we, we um. I think we we grilled burgers. I went through football with the family. It was like I told Summer. I said I really it's almost. I'm wondering why I don't. It doesn't get me like it used to, almost like is there something wrong inside?

Justin:

Because I kind of wanted to charge me a little bit more because I hated to lose, but I was quickly able to move on and so that's not normal. So I'm, I am, I am thankful for that.

Rhett:

I wish people I know we don't do video you know the humility on your face, with that kind smile of just all right, right, can we move on now?

Justin:

you can go, so what?

Rhett:

I will say this like um as an auburn fan, I I do not rejoice in the fact that the scc in general looks bad. When that happens, it does we embarrass the scc I I am grateful when humility comes upon anybody, because it's in those humble places where there's the most growth, where there is the most growth and development. Yeah, the most growth and development.

Justin:

I can't talk today, so so I am grateful that the Lord is creating opportunities for my brother and my friends. Very humble right now. I feel it. I feel it. Yeah, I'm a better version of myself today.

Rhett:

good, well, you're because of nine days ago, you're experiencing the humility in the perseverance that you know what perseverance produces character character produces hope it does, and this is where auburn has lived for the past. Yeah, dude, I went. 2019, I think maybe 18. Yeah, dude, what 2019,? I think maybe 18, somewhere in there.

Justin:

The last time we ever beat you guys. Well, yeah, I mean, my boys came upstairs, you know they'll watch the game or they'll hang out with friends, whatever they came up assuming like so how bad did Alabama beat them on week one and I was like guys, we got killed. They're like what? Yeah, I said boys, y'all don't understand. Y'all sent literally since my oldest is 16.

Rhett:

This is a good point 17 years of Nick Saban.

Justin:

Yeah, you guys have only known cause my my first Dax was won in 2009. Well, the 2008 season was undefeated until we lost to Florida in the SEC championship. So all their life, all they've known, is like these heydays of we're national championship contenders. So a funny little mark is every time that I had like one of my boys were born the next season that kicked off, alabama won a national title. So all they've known in their life is that Alabama wins, and so when this happened, I had to remind them of the days of the late 90s, early 2000s that I used to watch games wondering are we going to even win this game? And when we would beat a mediocre team, I would celebrate and I would turn on the radio show after just to listen to all the people saying Roll Tide, good game. Today we really pulled it out. I think Coach so-and-so is doing a good job and we're going to do this and we might finish eight and four.

Justin:

And it was like, wow, we did it and we've just not become used to that. So this is, we just got to adjust. I remember telling Lance Ingram one time this is when Alabama had won two national championships.

Rhett:

I love Lance, but if he were on here he would admit to this. He's on the obnoxious side of Auburn fans.

Justin:

Oh, he would let you know, and I'm an Auburn fan. Oh, he would tell you. We're calling you out, lance.

Rhett:

He's another level. Oh, he would tilt the toe. We're calling you out, Lance. He's another level. He is Great man of God, Incredible.

Justin:

Well, and I was probably talking trash to him and I didn't realize it, but we're in the green room in between like our second or third service and we're just talking football and he's about to go up a drum. I'm about to go back up and play acoustic and I seriously we were beating everybody so bad that games. Honestly, I promise the people on the airwaves I'm not trying to brag when I say this we were winning so much that it was almost getting boring watching a game. Yeah, because it's like you're just throttling everybody.

Rhett:

I can't understand it from the perspective of having a team that does that. Yeah, but at the same time, I can understand it through the leadership lens of the principles I'm learning. Oh yeah, oh yeah, you get a little more comfortable when you get so good.

Justin:

It's like there's something about the resistance that's actually, it's the, it's the flavor of life, yeah. And so I'm telling lance sitting there and I'm like, honestly, he's like, man, you must be loving this alab conquering everybody and I said, really we're going for a third national title. It's getting a little boring. And he couldn't believe. I said it and it would be two weeks later that the kick six happened, where Auburn beat Alabama.

Rhett:

Down to the greatest play I think that will ever go down in college history Worst play.

Justin:

No, you've got to admit, remove yourself, take a step out for a second.

Rhett:

Imagine you're an Oregon Ducks fan. Or imagine you're a Wisconsin fan.

Justin:

Imagine you look at that and you're like oh, come on man. Oh, you know when you're against.

Rhett:

That exposed probably the only weakness that Alabama had at that point.

Justin:

All we had to do was beat them. Go play Missouri in the championship and then we would have beat. Florida state.

Rhett:

One second. You could have just kneeled.

Justin:

You didn't need the field Gone to overtime. Yeah yeah, I'm just taking it to overtime and closed it.

Justin:

Oh, I know, so much was learned that was the last time that I ended up caring so much, cause when we lost, when we lost, I realized how much I wanted to conquer everybody again. And we did, we, um, we, we, we did cancel a Christmas party that night. Well, we're working through that. Yeah, you've worked through this. I think we did. We talk about that before we did we have. Yeah, we canceled. Yeah, you were, you were gracious.

Justin:

You were so overwhelmed with emotion that you didn't have the oh, I tried to build it back up Alabama and Auburn fans after that, I just didn't want to talk to anybody. Yeah, yeah, that was a tough day.

Rhett:

You're not. You're not proud of that moment, Not proud.

Justin:

It was a low, low point.

Rhett:

Yeah, so I, I, I say all that to say it's interesting. You know, um, I don't think anybody expected that, for sure. Yeah, and you, you know now two weeks have gone by by the time we're recording this. They plagued you, El Monroe kicked their tootie.

Justin:

Yeah, that's right, and we just played Wisconsin and we took care of business.

Rhett:

Well, you like how I'm talking in the future, he's speaking by faith right now.

Justin:

That happened two days ago, so we took care of it.

Rhett:

Hey, let's test this out. If wisconsin wins, you know, you're just setting yourself up for another. Let's just try something.

Justin:

Okay, hey guys, hey coach are we affirmation right coach? You did a good job. Way to rebound two weeks in a row you're looking strong. It was nice to have wisconsin come to alabama. They really looked around like they enjoyed everything. When you watch the game and I think that you know definitely that deficit, that or the, the amount of points that we beat him by, I think that was nice, looks good. It was nice to beat the big 10 and, um, yeah, so another good victory, so two in a row.

Rhett:

Let's keep this going two in a row and hey, we're getting ready to play south alabama. So, and all bring, you took care of business good job at this point we have. I don't remember the last time this happened, but, as an Auburn fan, we're finally ranked and we're currently ranked 24. Come on. We're just two away from the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Justin:

What are we?

Rhett:

We're 22.

Justin:

Are we really? What poll are you looking at? Don't we be like 18 or?

Rhett:

something. No, are you sure about that? Oh yeah, I'm going to pull it up. Go to ESPN. That was biased Alabama.

Justin:

Go to the one who is biased towards the SEC.

Rhett:

Yeah, I'm not pulling it up, but I'm 99% sure that Alabama is 22 last time.

Justin:

I looked Okay, how about that? We're together? Yeah, together at last.

Rhett:

Yeah, I do think it's interesting, though, though, how Alabama took a big leap. From where were they number seven to 22. But yet Florida State has now moved into the top 10. Right, it's interesting.

Justin:

So it's like that the victory doesn't look bad after all. They were just wanting to kind of kick us to the curb a little bit.

Rhett:

We'll bounce back. We always do.

Justin:

Okay.

Rhett:

So we talked a little bit of nonsense.

Justin:

To our Pacific Northwest, to our West, people who don't care about this. Yeah, you know, go get them Good.

Rhett:

Okay, so another. I talked about embracing AI before we go there, though I was talking about. We were talking about getting older and what that looks like. Before we started this conversation, I thought you had something on your mouth on the side I was, hey, bro, you got something right there.

Justin:

and then when you turned, I was like, oh, it disappeared. It must be a gray hair it's called age.

Rhett:

I got age on my mouth, that gray hair, that gray hair and that little beard on the mustache and caught in the light. In a certain way looked like a you know piece of paper or something on your mouth, and then you turn, and then the glaze from a donut. You don't eat donuts, do you?

Justin:

I would eat one if you have one right now.

Rhett:

But that's a real thing, though. Man Like the gray hair man.

Justin:

I'm like Lord Jesus, it's coming, it's here.

Rhett:

It's already here.

Justin:

If I let my hair air dry, you would look at it and think I did not know your hair was so gray Because I end up putting some like the product in it. I'll put a product when it's still wet so it keeps it somewhat darker, make it somehow, some way magically makes it look darker. Oh yeah, but if I didn't air dry it and I walked in like on a Saturday morning if I just wake up and I'm not taking a shower or anything like that and I'm just kind of chilling.

Rhett:

Yeah. Oh, it's just like it looks like my hair Actually.

Justin:

no, it actually doesn't because because I would have had a shower the previous day. If I take a shower like if I've worked on the yard but it's late at night and I don't want to put anything on my hair like and I'm like I don't need hair gel.

Rhett:

There's nowhere I'm going.

Justin:

Yeah, it's crazy how great it is, because there's no product. That's like keeping it looking wet.

Rhett:

We're just a couple of years away from Mark's podcast age of lions.

Justin:

He'll have a song. He'll have a song. We just need a little bit more.

Rhett:

One day, anyway, that had me thinking I was like, oh well, then that that dialed into something that I'm dealing with right now. Um, it might, I don't know what. I was adjusting a microphone or something, and you were looking at the behind the scenes of my levels, and my levels a lot hotter than yours.

Justin:

And I said it's because I'm deaf and I'm not deaf, but I have lost some some hearing, somehow some way. Yeah, I didn't know that my ears are constantly ringing, constantly.

Rhett:

So much so that, starting this past week, I have started taking my iPhone turning on white noise. Now we have granted two fans in our room, but when I lay on my side I don't know if anybody else has this issue when I lay on my side and I head on the pillow, it like creates this isolation booth and all I can hear is the ringing in my ear. So I've taken my iPhone and I turn on white noise and I put it underneath my pillow.

Rhett:

This is real world. It's right here. You're living it. Yeah, and it's under my pillow. To where, when I'm laying my head on the pillow, I can hear the, the white noise, louder than the ringing in my ears.

Justin:

Okay. Wow what a world Dang.

Rhett:

So are we going to have some.

Justin:

I can't remember. We'll have some white noise when we go to that event together in a few weeks. Yeah, maybe. Maybe If we share a room. Yeah, if we share a room.

Rhett:

You won't hear it in the room because it's under the pillow. Now here's the thing that I didn't recognize is that your iPhone actually produces a lot more heat than you think it does. So when you put it under a pillow and it's on all night, it gets really hot. And when it gets hot, then it shuts down and I wake up around like 3 am because the white noise dies. And so I take advantage of that, because as you get older you also have to you know go to the restroom more.

Justin:

You're like oh, okay, it's like that Nate Bargain sketch. You know it's like. When did I?

Rhett:

become my dad. How often do you go to the restroom? I don't know, just normal.

Justin:

You know what is that you?

Rhett:

know yeah, oh, is that not?

Justin:

normal, so you know.

Rhett:

I take my phone and I set it in front of the fan. This happens about 3 or 4 am every morning.

Justin:

Yeah, nice.

Rhett:

I set it in front of the fan to cool it off. Go to the restroom, come back.

Justin:

It's cooled down just enough so I can reboot that thing and put it back under the pillow and lay down for a couple hours Dang, the iPhone life, the iPhone life.

Rhett:

But then I was thinking oh, do they create a speaker or something that you can put in? And then, yes, of course they do.

Justin:

Because I go online, I'm looking, I'm like oh wow, there you go.

Rhett:

Yeah it, of course they do.

Justin:

Oh, they've got Cause. I go online, I'm looking, I'm like, oh wow, oh, there you go. Yeah, it's hard to have a we. We have those humidifiers in our room and when we have to change a filter and we'll just turn it off.

Rhett:

Yeah.

Justin:

When the house is silent, it's it really is.

Rhett:

You're not used to it, you just gotta you gotta adjust, yeah, so Like I get my ears, I could just hear the noise, and so anyway every now and again in this room.

Justin:

if you let it get quiet, you can hear Molly snoring Like she's just she's breathing, she's just like yeah.

Rhett:

In between your words. I'm like what is that sound and it's just, it's funny Every time we record she knows, we're starting.

Justin:

So she runs into the beanbag, doesn't she? Literally she'll lay on it. She's a very smart dog.

Rhett:

She sees me, she understands rhythm and routine. It's ridiculous. She's like justin's hair. She's on a beanbag right now in our little studio, office, office, office anyway, um, so yeah, so there you go.

Justin:

That's a little bit of that's good, good you know, so I'm talking about your ears not working right here. I didn't know that your gray hair and good to you know. So I'm talking about your ears not working here. I didn't know that.

Rhett:

Your gray hair and then my, you know, my ears are ringing and it just so it happens. Looking forward to 48 there you go.

Justin:

Well, I was. I mean, I remember a few episodes back when we had mark. He was getting ready to go hiking and, oh yeah, we were talking about running and I made a few jokes, oh yeah. And then I was working on my yard the other day and it's like I tweaked my knee a little bit and it was hurting and I thought, oh Lord, please don't let this be the moment the running stops Cause I was just messing with these guys.

Justin:

So it's better now that it was a little wake up call. A little wake up call how quick you can tweak your knee.

Rhett:

Hey, um side note we had um Barbara Motorsports Park here in Birmingham, alabama, had the GT Challenge.

Justin:

World-renowned place. People love Barber.

Rhett:

Motorsports Park and for those who have listened for a little while, my son loves racing, wants to be a professional race car driver, wants to get into motorsports. I'm not going to go into all of that, but what I do want to say is, over this weekend, this GT Challenge, it's like Ford versus Ferrari versus Audi versus Mercedes versus Lamborghini versus like all the major brand manufacturer sports cars, right. So around the world they're having all these races happening and it's a points race for manufacturers. So every race they tally up the points for the manufacturer and then there's a world challenge.

Rhett:

Some big bragging points right there it really is, and uh, so mercedes, they won but anyways they have a um at every race.

Rhett:

They set up this uh simulator challenge and if you're into any kind of motor sports or you know digital anything, everything is now simulated racing simulated, flying simulated, this and you learn so much in these environments. So my son has this set up at the house. It's right here behind me and we connected to the computer and he he spends I don't know a couple hours every other day or so on it, learning, growing, getting better, and so they have this sim challenge. Last year he came in third place overall the entire weekend Wow, GR Sim Challenge. And so at this Birmingham race after this weekend he had the fastest lap time, came in first, Dude, yeah, I didn't even know that.

Justin:

Yeah, you've been unveiling news on the podcast. I know right, I just told you, we had to walk and everything. Yeah, and I don't have.

Rhett:

I don't, they don't, they didn't have type is really heavy, it's, it's legit and so, yeah, he plays first out of the entire weekend. That's open up to the public to come and be a part of this challenge. And he came, he put the fastest lap times he's preparing his moment for 2026.

Justin:

Yeah, he's gearing up. He's getting a name out yeah, so I'm really happy branding's kicking in. Yep, we met.

Rhett:

I was about to take over we met, uh, weston Workman, who many people may not know who he is, but he's an up-and-coming driver, young, 20-something, and we got connected with his family at one of the last races and they invited us. This is crazy, this is just nuts. So Weston Workman just won a national championship. His points he's pulled every race this year. He won like the circuit's not even done yet for this toyota gr racing not even done yet. I think there might be three or four races left.

Justin:

yeah, he's already sealed the championship because his point is he could lose every race, be disqualified from every race, and he's already won. He has been killing people, then yeah and so you ready for this.

Rhett:

So we met his family. We were watching the race with his family up in this booth area and they're like, oh man, we remember you guys and it was so cool and they were just treating us like family and we rejoiced and we went to the podium. And then, not only did we go to the podium, like there's this barrier right to where all the normal fans have to stand while they watch this. Yeah, the common people.

Rhett:

Mama came over, gave me a big hug and said y'all get over here on this side, come on. Looked at Max and me and we walked all the way around the barrier. We're on, we're with the family. Wait, it gets even better. Oh my gosh. We're with the family, right there by the race car, with him getting out. He's being interviewed by the media and he's talking and stuff, and I feel I'm like, first of all, I've never, we haven't met Weston yet, but we know his family, yeah, and they're already treating us like family.

Justin:

Right.

Rhett:

This is insane. So I'm like you know. The self-aware person in me is like Mama, you're so kind, but like I don't want to.

Justin:

The champion don't know. He don't know who we are yet you know Yet.

Rhett:

Okay, I say yet. So he does this thing. He goes the podium one, two, three. They stand, they rejoice, they do all their stuff and then after that they invite the whole family with the race team and the crew chiefs and the big check that he won for like 12 grand or whatever it was for that race. Yeah, and they're all and mama's up there going, y'all to get up here with us well, mama's saying it, he's not gonna argue with mama I was like mama's, like y'all, get up here.

Rhett:

and I I was like, oh, I'm literally like like with my two hands going you're, with a big smile on my face, going, no, it's okay, like y'all. She's like I'm not taking no for get up here, cause she's already learned that my son loves racing, wants to be in this.

Justin:

And so okay.

Rhett:

So cool so it doesn't matter. You know race, I don't see race at all, but you know in color, when I'm this thing and I'm over on the corner with one of his uncles and we're hanging out and they're all like, alright, put the number one, sign up. And I'm like what, if I'm on the stage with the national championship of Toyota GR Racing, of this young guy with his entire family, and I'm thinking they're going to look back at this picture and go who are these dudes? You know what the heck?

Justin:

what is going on? They were like wedding crashers yes, I'm like.

Rhett:

I'm like what is going on right now and my son's got a big smile on his face like what is happening? He's living best life they got the cameras out, they're filming this whole thing. You know, um, it's like, oh my gosh. And so after that I was like all right, I'm getting off the platform. They're like no, no, we got more pictures to take.

Rhett:

I'm like oh my gosh, calling us right back up, and I'm like, yeah, all right, and so I still feel a little awkward, like I'm in a party that I shouldn't be a part of but, like the family's like mama loves you there I know and, uh, mama loves, and so anyway. So after it was done, the family was like like, hey, we're going to walk over back to the truck, you know. And she knew I haven't met him personally yet. And so she's like, oh, come on. And we walked over. And she's like Weston, get over here.

Justin:

I'm like yeah, yeah, she walked into the trailer.

Rhett:

And he came over and spent some time with me and Max Wow.

Rhett:

And it was yeah that that's fun, right for my son, oh man. But what's really cool is when he found out that max is working three jobs doing school, virtually saving up budget. He's like bro that like he was just speaking encouragement to max. Yeah, he was like that's the way to do it. You keep doing that. And he said the whole sim thing. He said honestly. He said I'm in the sim all the time doing the same thing you're doing at home. He said the whole sim thing. He said honestly. He said I'm in the sim all the time doing the same thing you're doing at home.

Rhett:

He said it's actually harder than driving the real car really if you keep doing that on top of what you're doing, man, it'll open up for you and then he's like here. Let me give you my phone number that's so cool.

Rhett:

He gave me his phone number. Oh man, and I was like, okay, he said let's stay in touch. How about that? I said, man, we're gonna be in north carolina, he's gonna be racing some races. He's like, oh, and I found out he did some coaching. I was like, dude, maybe we can have you coach max a couple laps or something. Wow, so look at god, move, dude. That's, that's big time, that's pretty cool.

Justin:

So, because he's traveling all over right oh yeah, he's living on the road. Yeah, that's amazing. Yeah, I'm a little shocked. I'm hearing it on the airwaves.

Rhett:

Yeah, there you go. Well, it just happened, mom, I'm in business.

Justin:

But it showed the favor, the trust that he had towards his mom.

Rhett:

And then he realized, all right, y'all are legit. Well, one thing I did I bra. You're so blessed, you're family, they're amazing, they're so kind, they've taken us in. He's like man, thank you. It means so much. I love my family and it's like man. Your mom, you know, I'm just bragging to the family and I mean it, and then I'm even talking to the family and we're just hanging out.

Justin:

It's almost like a little church service really more than anything. Yeah, she insisted we have to come over for Thanksgiving dinner. I texted him Rhett, linda and.

Rhett:

Max. I literally asked him. I said, dude, you won the championship. Man, like, how does it feel? And he's like, honestly, I'm still processing it, like it doesn't seem real. That's crazy. And what's his name, again Weston Workman.

Justin:

Weston Workman yeah, he's a young driver, but yeah, man pretty cool, oh man, if he's making 12 grand a win and he already has sealed the deal three races in he's had some pretty checks handed to him.

Rhett:

Yeah, and he's sponsored by Toyota.

Justin:

So anyway, all that to say yeah, I mean that's why we only have the best sponsors.

Rhett:

Weston Workman being the sponsor of Armchair Authentic. Armchair Authentic, yeah, so, but yeah, I just, I don't know, there was a small little dad when a little wink. God winked to my son to let let him know hey, I see you, I love you, I love what you love. I'm just creating these small little moments.

Justin:

Yeah, this is small moments. Yeah so it makes it happen.

Rhett:

I'm like this, like this is a god favor on your life. This is because you're putting him first, it's because you're honoring him, this is because and it really is, man, it's just anyway I'm a proud dad, but more than anything, I'm just always showing him this did not happen by accident, yeah right, and so I don't know it was.

Justin:

It was neat. I love that and I know it's not little to him, but at the same time he is. It's these seemingly little things that end up marking our life.

Rhett:

Yeah.

Justin:

Like they do, and you even think about just him working three jobs right now, strategically working at a place where he's getting to, you know, get all the grease on him and learn automobiles and what makes them run, and then putting his money back ready to.

Justin:

I mean by the, by the race car. You know the cart, and so it's. It's really cool. The relationships. Nothing happens, just nothing good happens. It just kind of here you go, you're over everything. Now, like, by the way, you want to be a race car driver, here you go, you're in In F1, it all starts in these small things and I think what Max has got a hold of you know, and obviously parents helping him see it, but that the best things to get where you want to go, it's going to be these seemingly insignificant, small things. That the media is not covering this story right now on major networks.

Rhett:

But this is where it begins. Speaking of something that is so insignificant that probably, well, let me, let me set this up differently. Hey, friends, just want to take a moment and say, if you are enjoying today's conversation, could you do us a huge favor. Would you take a moment and copy the link from your favorite podcast platform and share it with a friend, email it to a friend? How about airdropping it over to your buddy or your sister right now? Man, that would mean so much to us. Thank you All right, guys. Back to the conversation. It's not that it was insignificant, because it became a significant thing, but how decisions can impact our lives in ways we think nobody's watching. Let's talk Philly's Karen for a second. Oh, man.

Rhett:

Oh my gosh, she had no idea. If you have no clue what I'm talking about, you're living under a rock. I mean, you don't even have to be on social media to know what this is. Yeah, look it up really quick, yeah. And so I want to talk about it, not really from the perspective of throwing her under the bus, which everybody's doing, and it is on me.

Justin:

And at this time of recording no one knows her name. But they might know it by now. They might know it and we just don't know.

Rhett:

They've already discovered it as of right now there are rumors of who this person is, but they've all been wrong. At this point, which I'm thinking, how in the world does somebody remain that kind of anonymous?

Justin:

She's like no, that's not me, she's in hiding. I got jet black hair. Now, no, she's put a wig on. Yeah, she's put a wig on.

Rhett:

I'm like, how does your office and the people that you do like, unless you're retired and you're already hiding under a rock? This is the first time you've come out in your entire life.

Justin:

And if you're thinking I'm going to turn her in.

Rhett:

If you don't know what we're talking about. The bottom line is there was a baseball game. It was the Phillies versus the Marlins. It was taking place in Florida. There was a Phillies fan in the left outfield not in the field, but like the left bleachers just outside of left field, her home run was hit into the seats. If you've ever been to an American baseball game like one of the joys is trying to catch a foul ball or a home run baseball anything that ends up in the stands.

Justin:

It's just fun. It's the best.

Rhett:

You and I grew up as kids going to the local Birmingham Barons a Chicago White Sox affiliate development team, right Minor league team and we would always grow up and the fun was the fight getting the ball.

Justin:

That was the yeah, I mean like that's what you live for. You didn't care about no baseball game. If they hit over one, yeah, go Barons, but it was all about hit some fouls.

Rhett:

Yeah, let's get some foul balls and then, every once in a while, when they would curve one over, there was a green field. We'd go run it through the grass, try to get it All the time, and the ball was fair play until you actually had it under your control and, like, lift it in the air like a fist, Like yeah, I got it. And everybody rejoiced.

Justin:

It's the American way.

Rhett:

Yeah, and so there were moments where you and I, a ball, would be in between the seats and there'd be at least five people's hands.

Justin:

Oh, and I'm like I've got it. I've got four fingers on it, Just my thumb having quite curled around it.

Rhett:

Exactly, and that ball would just kind of keep bouncing between all of us, oh yeah. And then someone and then, all of a sudden, somebody would get it, grips it and then it's theirs.

Justin:

But that's just etiquette. Yeah, it's like you got me. I might be a little annoyed with you like I was so close grip no and that's fine and we were happy.

Rhett:

We're like, hey man, that was fun, good job you know fist ready for the next foul ball yeah yeah, okay, so that scenario happened on live tv? Yeah, a dad ended up with a ball. Yeah, walks over to his son right oh yeah, hands the ball to his son, puts in his glove, and then you see this father-son moment the dad just hugs his son from like behind, puts his arms around him and like closes his eyes and like man, like this is a what a dream.

Rhett:

This is a moment and he's like oh, until the moment turn you know, we don't know who this lady is, but she's been dubbed the phillies karen. Yeah, that's not a good thing. No, she's phillies because she's wearing a phillies jersey. She's a kid because of her response and sorry, to our friend's name, karen.

Justin:

Yeah, really that really does seem crazy. I'm so sorry. I hope Justin doesn't get turned into a term. I mean really, and so she walks over at least 20 seats over.

Rhett:

Yeah, at least A whole row.

Justin:

That's almost empty. She's quick, right, if she had been that into the guy's face.

Rhett:

She uses explicitives that we do find out from other candidates Expletives. Expletives, what did I say? Explicitives? She uses them all, Okay, and she's in this guy's face and his eyes are closed and in that moment where she comes up and starts yelling at him that's my ball, something like that. It shocks him. He opens his eyes and, you know, to the outside observer it can almost look like dramatic. But we've all been there where somebody walked out behind a corner or something.

Justin:

Textbook fight or flight mode. Fight mode kicked in Big time. He was ready and he controlled himself.

Rhett:

Yeah, and it was just that moment of fight or flight where his body kind of shook up and then his hand got in a ball, like I'm gonna knock somebody out. But he was enough to control himself to go okay, wait, this is a woman. She's lost her mind at this moment and he puts down and then he's trying to explain like, oh, I got the ball, I gave it to my son and she just keeps that's my ball, that's my ball, that's my ball, that's my, and so he takes the ball from his son in that moment, gives the ball to her, she walks off and then everybody's booing her yeah, rightfully so and she starts flipping everybody off, giving everybody.

Rhett:

You're the number one fan side, and at this point, not only, not only is this on national tv, this is now on like everybody's instagram, everybody's social media everybody's facebook.

Justin:

Everybody with a phone around is recording it, so it's being recorded from all angles. Absolutely, you're hearing everything. A lot of drunk people up there by the way probably oh no, I've heard the videos.

Rhett:

It's like you do that.

Justin:

Oh too well, uh, oh too well there's a reason I grew up around it okay, so that's what happened, that's my sad story and of course it went viral and so all right.

Rhett:

So that's the context went viral, nobody knows who she is. It was wrong at the test time. Um, you know, in in the whole and there are some people defending her. But but I guess I bring this up not to add more white noise to a conversation but to dial in a little deeper. Number one what a beautiful moment that the son had up until that point with his father, and then this guy's presented with an opportunity. How do I respond? Now, he's probably not thinking everybody's watching this, but he's trying to think protective of his son.

Justin:

He's salvaging, he's with his wife.

Rhett:

He's with his daughters. He's trying to salvage their own vacation.

Justin:

They're there for a few days before they head back to Philly.

Rhett:

Now I told my wife. I said, if that were me I probably would not have responded the way this guy did.

Justin:

You, you totally wouldn't have. You'd have been like this is my ball, you would out talktalk her yeah.

Rhett:

I would have been like not happening.

Justin:

But you know, he totally would not have given it back.

Rhett:

She could have slapped me and hit me but I would have been like not happening. It's just a different personality, it is I don't know, but I think he did the right thing. He did. I think so too.

Justin:

My opinion.

Rhett:

Not saying that I would have done the wrong thing, because I think they were both right.

Justin:

Yeah, in their own ways.

Rhett:

Yeah, it's not a right or wrong thing, it's just how you handle the situation, but he he deescalated, he gave her the ball and then he kind of gave that like that look of like I'm okay, fine, just kind of like away with you, like please go. Like end it, you got your ball, you're happy.

Justin:

If she was a magician, she would have poofed away. Be gone.

Rhett:

They actually need a creatamine. Someone needs a creatamine.

Justin:

That would be great.

Rhett:

Oh man, it's so, so beautiful moment with this beautiful moment with the dad, Right. But you know what kind of pain, what kind of hurt, what kind of like do you have to be going through? And I'm not trying to spend this to feel sorry for her, but the empathy side of things, Nobody grows up thinking I'm going to be that person. Yeah, Somewhere along the lines there was hurt, there was. Who knows the deep amount of pain that somebody has to go through to have that kind of aggression Right Over a twenty dollar, maybe twenty dollar baseball I don't know how much a baseball is these days Right, that has no value. Yeah, it's just leather with stitching and a cord. You know like, come on, man.

Rhett:

Yeah, it's just leather with stitching and a cord. You know like, come on, man. Yeah, like what type of pain, what type of hurt, what type of? You know and, and I, and I think the dad and his health was like, you know, it's not that big of a deal, it's a baseball whatever. Right, it means more to her than you know. He gave it Right and then so it shows his healthy perspective, yeah, and her unhealthy perspective, and how we're all on this journey. But I just think, man that was captured, you can't live these days. I was kidding with you before we went on air.

Rhett:

I was like, yeah, if you get cut off in traffic, you can't really you can, oh yeah just know the way you respond to people on the road, that these cars now all have cameras, oh yeah, and people are now posting people's road rage.

Justin:

Yeah.

Rhett:

And it could ruin your career. It could ruin your everything you've worked for, right. So this woman has remained an inimity. Right now, I don't know. Is that the word? Anonymity, anonymity, yeah, it's anonymity that's hard to say so far but, like there's gonna come a moment where it's exposed and what are the consequences to her unhealthy response?

Justin:

and actions something not deserving. Yes, unfortunately yeah, I mean mob mentality is kicked in because we watch it, and we even get upset watching it like who do you think you are? But at the same time, if you shift perspective like you did, where compassion and empathy sets, in for her own good you hope that people can try to push through the emotion.

Justin:

I do want to go there, cause we get triggered by the way we get triggered when we see that Cause you got people who've put up with this, whatever it is, for however long, and now it's like you're seeing it. You're like uh-uh not anymore.

Rhett:

Right, right, right.

Justin:

But, but yeah, but that she's dealing with it for a reason.

Rhett:

The Florida Morelands organization and the Phillies organization went above and beyond to, to, to love and show compassion and and bringing that kid back. You know he got to meet some of the players, autographed baseball bats, he got like all kinds of stuff that's happened from this for them, which is great and right Other things. But like man, I don't know. It's just I'm not part of me feel sorry for this lady, you know, and I'm not trying to show myself some kind of hero on this podcast about it, but I guarantee I'm wondering how many people are having that conversation right now. Hero on this podcast about it? But I guarantee you I'm wondering how many people are having that conversation right now, cause it's easy to just like lay into somebody, but it's like man, if you were all dealing with hurts and brokenness in ways that nobody else knows, I just can't imagine that girl being six, seven, eight years old growing up to think I want to become that, that person and she probably thought we're going to a game tonight.

Justin:

It's going to be fun. We're Phillies, which we know that the park they're at I don't know if it's it must be Marlins, but we do know it's where they do their spring training, right.

Rhett:

The Phillies.

Justin:

Yeah, the Phillies actually do their you know, a lot of these Northern teams will do their spring training in Florida.

Rhett:

Florida Right.

Justin:

And so they probably had great expectations for the night. We don't know what's happened in her situation, but just something made her feel like that was mine, almost like you know, when you get so close to finally getting something that is meaningful to you and it's literally ripped. You didn't have it completely, but it feels like it was ripped right out of your hands, like that's probably what she's walking into.

Justin:

And literally, in this case, a ball. You know she would say it was ripped right out of your hands, Like that's probably what she's walking into. And literally, in this case, a ball, you know she would say it was ripped right out of her hands. We know the etiquette.

Justin:

It was fair game it was fair game, but still she reacted because it wasn't the ball, there was something already there. It's not about the baseball, it's not about the baseball and so she's going. That ball meant something to her that she could not let go, and she's still in that moment. And now she's getting booed, yeah. And so it's not just the booze she's reacting to. Now there's a disappointment of feeling. There's no telling what she's feeling, and her reaction isn't to just deescalate kind of like the dad did.

Justin:

Her reaction is to she's just flicking everybody off and trying to go teach another guy who said something to her. She then walks down, if you see videos, and she's trying to teach him a lesson with her words, and she's. There's a reason. She is reacting in a way to you need to hear me. We don't know what's happening in her life Right. That makes her wonder or makes her react to feel like I need to feel significant right now, and it's completely backfired on her. And so what she thought was the start of amazing night has turned into, in this day and age, mob mentality. Whatever side you're on, we still have to admit, any of us can get caught in a bad moment.

Justin:

That's where I want to go with this, and this could get twisted and a mob mentality is making her the villain, and I'm right there with you. I can watch it too and get upset, but the fact is she's still going home and she's getting her Jamie's own and trying to go to bed like a normal person yeah, you know what I mean.

Rhett:

Yeah, and so we don't know the depths exactly of what caused that reaction we don't know the depths of the reaction, but also, like there's I think there's a lot of leadership stuff we can learn from this. Like I am so grateful that my worst moments have not been caught on camera and exposed to the world, that was let's call it what it is that's a worst moment being lived out in front of a gazillion people around the planet, seeing it in a matter of minutes, and I'm grateful, right. So I think, as leaders, it opens my eyes to be very self-aware that, okay, we're living in a time like no other. That our worst moments. We could be the next meme in a matter of moments, right. And so I think there's a healthy perspective to learn to go. You know you're. You're not as hidden as you think you are, cause I guarantee you that woman didn't go to the ballpark thinking I'm going to be making world news after this game is over.

Justin:

No, literally world news, not even in that moment, yeah, really, yeah.

Rhett:

No, like she's just thinking, oh, we're just at a game, yeah, these people around me, but nothing, yeah, and so I think there's some perspective there to go. Okay, to filter and to go do I have enough self-awareness in my life, who have enough self-control which, by thank God, like when you give your heart to Jesus and you come into a relationship with God? Scripture teaches you that the Holy Spirit takes up residence. Holy Spirit, that's the spirit of God in our lives. That's why some people are like I have Jesus in my heart. No, you don't have Jesus in your heart.

Rhett:

Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father in heaven according to scripture, jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father in heaven. Yeah, according to scripture. Yeah, right, and Jesus is the Holy Spirit, which is the wisdom of God, the power of God, anything that the Holy Spirit shows the comforter, helper, God and all that comes from the throne room of heaven to us. You know a fruit of that in Galatians 5, 20-ish, 22, right.

Rhett:

The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness patience self-control and I don't always get that right in my own life, but most of the times where I don't get that right, it's in unseen places, right, right, whether it's I'm mad at somebody who cut me off in traffic or whatever, and even that, as I mentioned, you know, somebody could go back and pull a dash cam or something and go who is this? Yeah, you know, you know. Oh, he's a pastor.

Justin:

Well, oh my gosh, you know spin this, a certain way, get me out of the job. Right, it happens all the time so it happens all the time.

Rhett:

so you know, having christ in our life doesn't make us better than anybody else, but it does give us the tools necessary that we were always meant to have in the first place that sin separated us from. And so, because of Jesus and the reconciliation, of the final work on the cross death, burial, resurrection, sin has been defeated, holy Spirit comes in and now we're in that relationship with God. So we have that direct access through the spirit of God. So we're experiencing these fruits in our lives where we should be at least right. And so, again, we're all on this journey. So my hope is that, as a Christ follower, that I'm allowing that kind of fruit to bear in my life, to where, if I'm ever in that opportunity, that I would respond in a way that would be healthy, right.

Justin:

Absolutely.

Rhett:

So you know, that's my Christian perspective, and so you know, when you take that out of the mix, I'm not surprised when I see people living this way. Yeah, because they don't necessarily have the tool to be able to do it, especially when you layer the depths of hurt and pain. Yeah, so I cannot expect this woman to respond this way, you know, and so I don't look at it as if I'm surprised because I look at it and go.

Justin:

Well, this is what the world looks like when it really brings out some qualities we do not want. But, at the same time, when we get annoyed with her and ticked off, you can almost see qualities coming out of people that is lacking the self-control too, because it's like we're ready to crucify her Exactly, and we've seen that before crucifier exactly, and we've seen that before.

Rhett:

Hey guys, red here just want to take a moment and say thank you to every single one of you who have taken the time to follow us on social media. Now, if today is your first time to join us for an episode, man, we want to say welcome, friends, it's so good to have you with us. Could you take a moment? Look us up on instagram or facebook. You can find us there at armchair authenticentic, or you can go on over to X find us there as well, at Armchair Auth Pod. That's Armchair Auth A-U-T-H-P-O-D. All right, now back to the conversation. While it's easy to want to sit there and laugh and poke fun, I just think when you pull back the curtain, if you take a moment to empathize, it's like oh, I don't think you know.

Justin:

Right.

Rhett:

And I think that's what I'm trying to draw here is like I'm not talking about it from the perspective of, like, trying to make fun of or poke fun of. Yes, it's not right, but if we could just take a moment and look through a different lens and go man, there are a lot of people fighting battles we know nothing about.

Justin:

Yeah.

Rhett:

And I'm not trying to dismiss, I think it's okay.

Justin:

I like I like the deep little talks because it is it's a sporting event. Yeah, it seems very wrong what happened. But then people walk by and I'll take it deep here. I mean, it's like couple up by and you got kids probably begging for bread around the corner and we walk right by them and just be like you know, get a job, you know, and we're not going to bring that to light, but it's just the fact we saw something on TV. It's a ball, it's all meaningless. It's meaningless, but it's the mob that controls both sides on how we're going to react. And I had the same reaction, just like anybody did from my side of it.

Justin:

Yeah, I'm going to probably look at, or not, probably. I looked at it like what a punk lady. I thought the same thing, and I'm sure there's someone out there who, until enough of the mob, rises up. There's someone from her side like man.

Justin:

These men just trying to overpower women, just thinking they're the stuff, someone man, these men just trying to overpower women, just thinking they're the stuff. Someone's got a narrative and who's right. You know what I mean. But yet we can step outside that baseball stadium and go do something else, and it could actually be scripturally, something as followers of Christ we would look at as unacceptable. But because the mob's not against it, it's not as unacceptable, you know. So I mean, there's just so many layers to this.

Rhett:

But there's a human at the end of it.

Justin:

That same lady leaves the stadium. She's getting in her car. She's regretting what she did. Surely, when she's by herself, I know she's putting up a front with everybody. But when she's by herself, I know she's putting up a front with everybody. But when she's by herself, left with her thoughts, she's probably thinking if I could choose not to go over there again, I wouldn't. But if you ask her, she's going to be like you better believe I would justice. But then you have the other side. It's all justice, justice. But what are these people doing? What am I doing when we're by herself? What are our thoughts?

Rhett:

Yeah, so a lot of I don't know man. There are a lot of leadership lessons to be learned Self-awareness, kindness, humanity. I just say, man, I'm just so grateful that my worst moments haven't been caught on that type of camera, because if they were, man, some people would look.

Justin:

Yeah, it was tough enough talking about old Ralph Brothers last week.

Rhett:

You know, I'm just trying to be real and authentic because I think that's where people can often look through the lens of thinking everybody's got their stuff together, that are doing podcasts or speaking on platforms or whatever, and it's like no man, that woman right, there was the hopefully I'm using this word the right way, correct me if I'm wrong the epitome of what Christ came to do and to die for. Like she, that's why Christ came.

Justin:

Whoever feels hated the most if you could now insert what you just said.

Rhett:

Yeah, I mean, you know, all I could see is Christ and his love in the context of scripture. Right, I'm just like trying to bring it into our modern day culture.

Justin:

Be like I want to go get to know her yeah, wow, what if we actually could step out of our own reactivity and look at it and say what would it be like to just say, hey, let me buy you coffee and let's just talk? There's no agenda other than, yeah, I'm not here to fix you, what's going on, I just want to hear your story. Yeah, what would she say? What would she say? And you don't have to respond, yeah, you just then walk away and it's like, hey, let's grab coffee again next week. Well, think about it through this lens. Through this lens, the deep work that could happen.

Rhett:

We read scripture and we think through the lens now of oh well, Christ, he's a friend of the political party.

Justin:

You hate Either one or the third one. There's three or four out there, and so he loves them all.

Rhett:

Jesus came to reveal the love of the father and Jesus went against all the spiritual ish you know pharisaical religious leaders of the day. It was like and this is why I came to hell, they don't need a doctor. Yeah, it's the sick, it's the hurting, it's the one who has so many layers of hurt and pain, it's the woman at the well. Yeah, I know the hell you've been through.

Rhett:

Yeah, pardon me, I'm probably gonna not trying to make this as explicit podcast, but like hell, literally, like the hurt, the pain and all the stuff you've gone through I know I'll allow it, but I'm, you know, if you knew who you were talking to right now, you'd ask me for living water and I'd give it to you, like something that goes way beyond what you've ever experienced. So I don't know, I look to the lens and go man, that's exactly the type of person that we all are at the root and at the core, very selfish, right, whether we want to admit it or not, whether we would admit it or not, and that's the type of person Jesus gave his life for and I came to seek and save the lost, the hurting, the broken. You know, and I don't know, when I look through that lens, it just changes the whole narrative for me. You know, it makes me look at the memes and go, you know. Of course, this is the way the world's going to respond, and I'm not trying to shame anybody at all.

Justin:

And it's entertaining. We the way the world's going to respond, and I'm not trying to shame anybody at all and it's entertaining. We're going to watch them because they are entertaining, but we can't let it control our narrative, because at the end of the meme there's still people, exactly.

Rhett:

Unless they're AI generated and we just don't even know anymore. No, right, okay, so I don't know. Is there anything else you would like to say about that leadership-wise, that leadership wise that we can walk away from and either apply to our life or no?

Justin:

I think that I think we hit it. You know, the only thing I would take back is I said look your political party, you and I need to redirect that and say us because we all have our things that we think are better.

Rhett:

Yeah.

Justin:

And we got to remember whatever the opposite of that spectrum is, that we think is not as good, and we all have different opinions of what that is.

Rhett:

Jesus came for that person who represents that spectrum 100%, and so that's the good news of the gospel man. It really is. And that's just what I don't know, and I don't want to use the word motivate, but it's just hopeful, that inspiring that encourages me, that kind of love of the Father to go. You know what, that, even while I was still a sinner, christ encourages me, that kind of love of the Father to go. You know what, that, even while I was still a sinner, christ died for me. You know, and my greatest hope is that this my hope. And I don't know this woman's name. I would call her by her real name if I knew it at this point. But my hope, not that she's listening, but my hope is that she knows that there are people out there who are empathetic towards the pain and who are praying for her and hope the best for her to see her life turn around and be transformed and to be healed of that type of pain to where that would no longer be her response in the future.

Justin:

Yeah, and for all of us going through stuff, what work could we all do on ourselves? Yes, what could we do right now that we can step into, shed one of the layer that we've developed over all these years because we have put on stuff, we've put on armor, and what can we do to continue to at least shed the next layer of it and get that closer, that much closer to?

Rhett:

the way we were created to be. Well, I know earlier I mentioned about talking about a few topics. One of those is said embracing AI, but I think we need to end there and we can just say that one Agreed For later due to time. There's your hold up, people.

Justin:

Yeah, ai, there's some good stuff coming up on that.

Rhett:

And you know to all my Auburn fans and Auburn friends and family, war Eagle let's go. It Auburn fans and Auburn friends and family war eagle, let's go.

Justin:

It's going to be a banner year for us. Go get them, eagles. Yeah, you, auburn Eagles, auburn Eagles, go get them yeah we're the Tigers and the Eagles.

Rhett:

Let's go.

Justin:

If I had a ball, I'd rip it out of your hands right now and go back to my seat. Yeah, and go back to your seat. Anyway, it was a. Yeah it's a great week, though this is a great episode.

Rhett:

Yeah, and if I could close with this one statement, I'm grateful for our Starbucks friends and family. They ride on our cups now and I think this is something they're doing nationwide. It is, but they all know me over here at the Moody Starbucks and I don't know who wrote this today, but this means a lot. I am the pumpkin king and they drew a picture of a pumpkin. Yeah, and I didn't even order a pumpkin spice latte.

Justin:

I got the uh vanilla, so I think that's amazing, because when I look at, when I look at you, I do think pumpkin king, I am the pumpkin king don't forget it and mine says boo. So evidently you're the pumpkin king and I'm your boo, and on that we close out this conversation. All right, guys see?

Rhett:
